The Cortex Innovation Community (Cortex) is a 200-acre hub for technology and biological science research, development, and commercialization. It's located in the Midtown neighborhood of Saint Louis, Missouri. Cortex was founded in 2002 and built on a former 200-acre industrial area. It's considered one of the top five innovation districts in the world. In 2018, Cortex generated $2.1 billion in economic output for the St. Louis region.

Since its inception, Cortex has grown to a 200 acre hub of business, innovation, and technology, with 425 member companies, 6000 employees, and $40.7M net new taxes generated.
